Dre has turned out to be a lot like her big brother- she loves puzzles and is getting very good at them. Her favorite one right now is a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse puzzle which she calls her "icky ouse cub ouse" puzzle.

It has been one of those days... I have been going nonstop all day long. I am exhausted and was just thinking, did I accomplish anything really worthwhile today? Selling girl scout cookies at Von's for the second day in a row didn't really feel like I was doing the most good. As I stood there talking with the troop leader, I came to realize that, yes Girl Scouts is a good thing, BUT there are much better things I can be doing to help my daughter grow into the woman I want her to be. Making bread was a good thing, but grabbing a loaf while at Von's would have been better because it would have meant more time with my little family. Giving Audrey a bath was good but seemed pointless because I gave it to her before dinner and a warm cinnamon roll- so now I will have to bathe her again. (she did poop on the potty today though!) I did do something really worthwhile today - I attended a world wide leadership meeting at the church. Listening to Apostles and other leaders speak and encourage us to do better and be better was what I needed today. What I needed most was to feel the Spirit today and I was blessed to feel that for a solid 2 hours. I feel inspired to do a better job with my calling- to be guided by the Spirit as we lead 187 kids each week on their path to Heavenly Father. I will also try to be better and focus on what is MOST important in helping keep my family together on the path back to Father.

A little over a month into this new year and I have already struggled with following my words for the year-Simplify, patience, and breathe. I haven't failed by any means but have lost sight of them for days at a time. This week I really tired to focus on Simplify. I have truly enjoyed doing just what is mandatory and then doing things that I like to do that I don't get to do very often. Dree and I have played together a lot more, I found myself more patient with the kids and their homework, I have found time to read, and they kids have LOVED listening to Harry Potter (year 3) on CD. The more mellow I am the more calm our household (most times.) Looking forward to trying to better implementing my words and seeing more peace and joy enter our home and our lives.
