Crazy hair day at school was on Friday. Mara had been talking about it all week- trying to decide how to do her hair for the big day. She finally decided on having 13 big curls just like a character from her new favorite books- Judy Moody. Wyatt and Audrey also decided to have crazy hair that day too. It was also a free dress day at school (she normally has a uniform) the kids decided to wear Halloween inspired clothing and Dre joined in too.
Friday we headed up to the petting zoo at Bonnie Springs with some friends to see some animals and enjoy the cool weather. It was so fun and funny- Liz got attacked by a crazy dear and llama wasn't any better. Some of the kids were terrified of the strange animals that they had there, but over all it was great. Found out they do pony rides for $7.50- so I may have to take Mara up there soon.
Thursday we went to Blue Diamond twice- once to go visiting teaching to one of my favorite people of all time- Barbara- I just LOVE that lady! Then we headed back up there after school to go to the library and the park- this will be a new weekly thing for us.
We picked up several chapter books and thought they would last Mara a week or so, but no. She was done by 8 am this morning with ALL of the books we got. We had to borrow some from my visiting teacher's daughter (one of Mara's good friends) so she would have something to read today. She reads so fast I just don't know what to do with her. If anyone has any good book suggestions for her-PLEASE let me know!
Women's conference yesterday was fantastic! I can't wait to read the talks once they come in the Ensign. It was also nice not putting the kids to bed and having adult conversations with other women. I can't wait for conference next weekend!

Another week already??
I can't believe it is has been a week already. Here is what we have been up to:
-Mara had an appointment with her orthopedic surgeon and with the orthodontist.
-her legs are not getting any better, but we still aren't talking surgery yet. Her legs are getting
more tired and hurting more- physical therapy may be helpful for that-we will see.
- braces are in her future, but may not be as bad as we first though. For now she will just see the
orthodontist every 6 months until her molars are close to coming out and at that point they will
put on spacers.
-Wyatt enjoyed play group this week- they read on of his favorite books- There is a Monster at the End
of this book. He was the spotlight in Primary this week and that made him feel pretty special.
He had an asthma attack at Nate's work party Friday night- I was about to take him to the ER
when he finally was able to calm down and breathe. He has been the little photographer around
here- taking lots of pictures and videos.
-Audrey got into everything. Out grew more clothes. Made us laugh- a lot.
-Nate worked. He also had a work party Friday night that we all got to go to- lots of fun for everyone.
Good people and good food. He turned Pro in the Wii bowling game.
-Sara got to take all three kids to get flu shots at 8 in the morning. Wyatt was brave, Audrey was a
tough girl and didn't even cry, and Mara was not so brave and not so cooperative, but she has her
shot. That night Wyatt threw up, Audrey got a fever and wouldn't stop crying, and Mara woke
up with her legs hurting.- great times!!! She also attended her first PTA meeting- should be an
exciting year.

This Past Week
I am struggling to find time to do everything and so blogging has been put on the back burner. I want to record what happens in our lives so the kids will remember that their childhood wasn't horrible. I am going to attempt to blog once a week and try to record the important and fun things that happened.
So far in September-
Mara has started second grade. She loves it already (not a real surprise there.) She is VERY excited to learn how to write in cursive this year. She has been having lots of leg pain which we are all hoping is her legs correcting themselves. We see her orthopedic doctor tomorrow and we will see what he has to say. She also gets to go the orthodontist for the first time tomorrow. She has been busy reading- I am having a hard time keeping enough chapter books in the house.
Wyatt was really sad to see Mara go back to school. Last week he had his first day of his weekly playgroup. He had a good time and looks forward to going again. We had fun going to the Blue Diamond library and getting lots of new books to read while Mara is at school.
Audrey is busy getting into everything. She is obsessed with kitty cats, but found out this week that she is for sure allergic to them- she petted a cat and a few minutes later, her hand was swollen and had hives on it. She says mama, dada, yes, and most frequently, kitty. She loves books just like her big sister and her mama.
We were able to spend a few days with my mom this past week! She stopped to visit on her way to and from San Diego where she attended her 40th high school reunion. We always love to see her!
I have been reading (mockingjay and some Mary Higgins Clark books) and figuring out how to make baby leg warmers to keep Drey's legs and knees somewhat clean and protected. Had a good time at book club and look forward to next months.
Nate made a trip to AZ for work and will have to go again soon. He is growing his hair out- it's getting crazy long. He gels it for work and church - it is so curly that it looks good. Once he gets home though, he combs it out and has a huge afro.
I will try to do better- in all things.
