can't believe another week has gone by!
what has happened?
-twin day (the kids got to dress up in matching clothes with their best friends at school)
-I was able to attend an early morning training meeting for young women's- so good! can't wait for the next one!
-lots of library time!
-free movie at the library with our good friends
-several play dates for Dree and even some for the big kids too!
-Today we made a quick trip to CVS minute clinic on a gut feeling that something wasn't right despite there being no symptoms or complaints from Audrey. By the time we saw the nurse practioner, Dree was lethargic and had spiked a fever. She has two ear infections, tonsillitis (again!) and strep. She has had 3 naps since and went to bed not long after her normal time. Hoping she can sleep comfortably all night. So grateful for the gut feeling/prompting that I needed to take her in.
-it's spring break!!!!

this past week and this week is all about meetings. Today did NOT go as planned. I had everything worked out almost to the minute and it was going to be a very full and productive day. Woke up and started my morning study as usual, feeling good about all i was going to get done today. And then I hear one of the kids' door open-uh? it isn't even 6am- who is awake and why? the day started to go downhill from there. All three kids were up and in my room by 6:15. On the way to school I got a text that the friend who was going to pick Dree up from preschool and watch her all afternoon, now had a sick child and wouldn't be able to. That led to Dree having a melt down. The AC guy who was suppose to stop by at 8am just for me to sign a paper we missed when he was here on Saturday, was an hour late, etc, etc. I tried to take it all in stride and remember God is in charge and all things happen for a reason. Took a breath and realized all the blessing that came from all the changes to my day. Then I got a text. A lady I visit teach needed help and because everything had change and all my plans had been canceled, I was able to help her out! I was grateful for the chance to serve her and her family. As the day progressed I saw more blessings coming because "my" plan for the day turned into the Lord's plan for the day. In the end, it was a good day-just different than I had planned. I look forward to ending the night with a wonderful celebration at the church for the Relief Society birthday dinner.
One lesson I learned today is that the Lord knows truly what we can handle. I am grateful for my children and for their strong spirits and though they are far from perfect (but certainly closer to it than I am!) they are really good kids and Nate and I are trulylucky blessed to be able to raise them.
the many faces of my crazy kids

Random lizard story:
there have been lots of lizards on our sidewalks lately. we enjoy watching them. one was sitting right by a front door and we were quietly watching him-he never moved. I started thinking he might be dead. we couldn't scare him away- even more sure he is dead. the next morning we go out the door for school and the lizard is still in the exact same spot and body position. Dead-for sure! The kids vote that dad can be in charge of dispose of it. I go on with my day and try not to be grossed out by the dead lizard next to my door. I open the door to go get Dree from preschool and I see a flash of movement and I jump (almost wet my pants!-almost) and there is a lizard scrambling away from my door. the "dead" lizard is no longer there! so either the lizard that scared me was our "dead" lizard OR he ate the dead lizard- still not sure which one I am hoping is the truth. Later that day, another lizard comes out of nowhere and scares me again while walking up the front steps. Those little things are FAST and seem to appear out of thin air. they keep us entertained this time of year.

This past week has been a bit of a blur with trying to figure out my new calling and get organized. We also found we have some new girls (yea!!) to add to our small but wonderful group of young women. The number of phone calls, emails and texts i receive has tripled since last Sunday- realizing my life is going to be very different now. Time to get my priorities straight and learn how to balance all the things in my life.
Dree has been keeping us laughing, as usual, this week. Today it was her saying nursery rhymes and singing songs with all the wrong words (but she is sure she is saying the right words and that we don't know what we are talking about!) for example:
Hey diddle didd le,
the cat and the fiddle,
the cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such fun
and the dish ran away with the stoon.
I asked her what a stoon was and she said she didn't know but she is sure the word is stoon and not spoon!
Little miss puppet sat on a tuffet
eating her spider away
a spider came up behind her and
scared miss puppet away.
Wyatt has gone from hating PE last week because they were playing soccer (this broke my heart) to loving PE today because they played soccer! I don't know what happened between Thursday and today but i am happy he is now liking soccer! He has struggled a little bit with the timed math tests at school this year but finally has caught on and is doing really well. he has been studying a lot and is excited no to take a math test. He is doing well with piano -he just likes to play a little too fast.
Mara and I spend a few hours at Joann's trying to find a dress pattern and fabric for her. We finally found something she liked and i even got it all made. She likes it and i learned a lot about sewing. she if overly modest (i am NOT complaining about that!) and trying to find her clothes at the store is impossible so i better really brush up on my sewing! She is really starting to take responsiblity for your self and take care of things without constant guidance and help. She has become a real big help around the house- what a blessing she is!
Saturday we spent the morning as a family- cleaning the office (weekly family job we have), geocaching, and then we enjoyed some glacier donuts-yum!
Thursday, Nate and I got to meet up at the temple during the day and do a session together! wonderful surprise that was.
well that is about all i can remember right now. til next week!

love 4 daddy
Here Dree is tonight waiting for Nate to come home from work- even "Prince Charming" was waiting with her. She was out there for 37 mins before he came home. When she saw his truck, she started screaming and jumping up and down and yelling HI DAD!!!!
Earlier in the day she asked if Nate was coming home for lunch and when I said no, she started bawling! then she asks if he can please come home to eat dinner with us (he does every night.) When i told her that, yes, dad would be home for dinner she stopped crying and said,"Okay, Dad comes home and then you go with your 'ung' women and I will stay with Dad." yep-that is how life is going to be around here for awhile, glad she loves her dad so much and wants to hang out with him.

I know I said just last week that I was going to start doing weekly posts and I do plan on it but I have been called as the Young Women president in our ward and trying to get organized and figure out what to do has taken up all my time lately. I will try to get back on later this week! Tomorrow is our first presidency meeting- wish us luck!
