This Past Week

I am struggling to find time to do everything and so blogging has been put on the back burner.  I want to record what happens in our lives so the kids will remember that their childhood wasn't horrible.  I am going to attempt to blog once a week and try to record the important and fun things that happened.

So far in September-

Mara has started second grade.  She loves it already (not a real surprise there.)  She is VERY excited to learn how to write in cursive this year.  She has been having lots of leg pain which we are all hoping is her legs correcting themselves.  We see her orthopedic doctor tomorrow and we will see what he has to say.  She also gets to go the orthodontist for the first time tomorrow.  She has been busy reading- I am having a hard time keeping enough chapter books in the house.

Wyatt was really sad to see Mara go back to school. Last week he had his first day of his weekly playgroup.  He had a good time and looks forward to going again.  We had fun going to the Blue Diamond library and getting lots of new books to read while Mara is at school.

Audrey is busy getting into everything.  She is obsessed with kitty cats,  but found out this week that she is for sure allergic to them- she petted a cat and a few minutes later, her hand was swollen and had hives on it.  She says mama, dada, yes, and most frequently, kitty.  She loves books just like her big sister and her mama.

We were able to spend a few days with my mom this past week!  She stopped to visit on her way to and from San Diego where she attended her 40th high school reunion.  We always love to see her!

I have been reading (mockingjay and some Mary Higgins Clark books) and figuring out how to make baby leg warmers to keep Drey's legs and knees somewhat clean and protected. Had a good time at book club and look forward to next months.

Nate made a trip to AZ for work and will have to go again soon.  He is growing his hair out- it's getting crazy long.  He gels it for work and church - it is so curly that it looks good.  Once he gets home though, he combs it out and has a huge afro.

I will try to do better- in all things.
